ABOUT Laura Messing

Laura Messing

Hi, I´m Laura Messing!

Architect, Visual Artist, and Educator.

I began working with biomaterials in 2018, searching for sustainable materials to continue creating art. Along the way, I discovered a world of possibilities to replace pollutants such as plastics, tanned leathers, ceramics, cement, and more.

From that moment on, I understood that sharing this knowledge so that designers, artists, and architects can transform their productions carries, for me, a deep sense of service to the community — in harmony with the environmental crisis we are currently facing.

I deeply enjoy experimenting, discovering new materials, spending hours in the studio, learning every day, trying, making mistakes, starting over, and getting it right.

And of course, sharing everything I’ve learned — and continue to learn — to help biomaterials replace polluting forms of consumption as soon as possible.
